{"id":460,"date":"2010-04-22T11:06:52","date_gmt":"2010-04-22T16:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aprilponders.com\/?p=460"},"modified":"2023-11-25T13:07:55","modified_gmt":"2023-11-25T18:07:55","slug":"fear-to-beauty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.aprilponders.com\/?p=460","title":{"rendered":"Fear to Beauty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It occurs to me that turning fear to beauty is the Navajo way. &nbsp; Turning webs into an object of beauty with colors and patterns of our own choosing will help me with this.<\/p>\n<p>A prayer from Reichard&#8217;s <em>Spider Woman<\/em> reminds me of an active way during a 9 day sing part of the prayer was:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;May happiness be mine again, I say.<\/p>\n<p>The day may it be beautiful behind me,<\/p>\n<p>May it be beautiful before me,<\/p>\n<p>May it be beautiful above me,<\/p>\n<p>May it be beautiful all around me.&#8221; pg. 167.<\/p>\n<p>Beauty implies harmony to me. &nbsp; Beauty was a translation used by Gladys Reichard.&nbsp; She says that the Navajo word means many things: beauty, comfort, good luck, good health, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The key is turning the feeling of fear toward action, the action of a creator, not the inaction of reclusive waiting, though both are true of my life here in Ashland.&nbsp; I have been both, going deeper into inaction, and more widely into active creation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aprilponders.com\/?attachment_id=462\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-462\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-462\" title=\"spider\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aprilponders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/spider.jpg\" alt=\"spider\" width=\"124\" height=\"124\"><\/a>Spider image from zazzle.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It occurs to me that turning fear to beauty is the Navajo way. &nbsp; Turning webs into an object of beauty with colors and patterns of our own choosing will help me with this.
